Care & Handling Guide

Sthetix In Stone

Marble is a natural stone formed over centuries. Each Sthetix In Stone creation carries the strength, character, and individuality of the material from which it is shaped. Proper care will ensure your handcrafted piece retains its beauty for years to come.

1. Understanding Natural Marble

Marble is:

·        A porous natural stone

·        Sensitive to acidic substances

·        Unique in colour, veining, and texture

·        Individually handcrafted and finished

Minor tonal shifts, subtle surface marks, or natural mineral variations are inherent characteristics and not defects.

2. Cleaning Instructions

Routine Cleaning

·        Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth for regular dusting.

·        For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with clean water.

·        Dry immediately after wiping to prevent moisture absorption.

If Necessary

·        Use a mild, pH-neutral stone cleaner specifically formulated for natural marble.

·        Avoid excessive water exposure.

3. What to Avoid

Do NOT use:

·        Acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon, bathroom cleaners)

·        Abrasive scrubbers or steel wool

·        Harsh chemicals or bleach

·        Strong detergents

These can dull the surface or cause etching.

4. Stain Prevention

Because marble is naturally porous:

·        Wipe spills immediately.

·        Avoid prolonged contact with oils, wine, coffee, cosmetics, or coloured liquids.

·        Use coasters or protective pads where applicable.

5. Candle Stand Usage Guidelines

For marble candle holders and stands:

·        Always place on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

·        Use standard-sized candles that fit securely.

·        Do not allow wax to overflow excessively.

·        Avoid letting candle flames burn directly against marble surfaces for prolonged periods.

·        Do not leave burning candles unattended.

After use:

·        Allow wax to cool before removal.

·        Gently remove wax using a wooden or plastic tool (never metal).

6. Handling & Placement

·        Lift pieces carefully using both hands.

·        Avoid dragging across surfaces.

·        Do not place near edges where accidental impact may occur.

·        Keep away from high-traffic zones if possible.

Though durable, marble can chip or crack if dropped or struck with force.

7. Outdoor Use (If Applicable)

If placed outdoors:

·        Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain.

·        Protect from extreme temperature fluctuations.

·        Bring indoors during harsh weather conditions.

8. Long-Term Preservation

For long-term maintenance:

·        Periodic professional marble sealing may help enhance stain resistance.

·        Avoid prolonged water pooling.

·        Store in a dry, stable environment if not in use.

9. Important Note

Natural marble evolves gently over time. Minor surface softening or patina development may occur and is considered part of the material’s natural aging process.

These changes enhance authenticity and are not considered product defects.
